An eclectic mix of sometimes underrated and undiscovered music across all genres

Join 3CR from 9am – 4pm on Thursday 26 January for our annual Invasion Day broadcast.

26 January signifies the beginning of invasion, colonisation, and displacement, and the start of a powerful movement of First Nations resistance and protest that is ongoing to this day. 3CR's First Nations broadcast team will be bringing you Blak and deadly music, and the voices of grassroots activists across the continent. Discussing genocide, sovereignty, treaty, pay the rent, deaths in custody, truth and justice, and the lore of the land …

Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner Commemoration

The Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner Commemoration Committee invites you to the Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner Commemoration, at midday Friday 20 January 2023 on the corner of Victoria Street and Franklin Street, Melbourne. Listen live from 12-1pm on 3CR, or join the crowd in the city for the full event. In 1842 two indigenous freedom fighters, Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner, were the first men executed in Victoria for having the audacity to resist the British colonisation of their lands and the destruction of their people and their way of life. The Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner Commemoration Committee believes your participation in this ceremony on Friday 20 January 2023 will help to kick start the stalled reconciliation process between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians. Turn up, or tune in!

Rest is Survival, artwork and poem Renay Barker Mulholland

Tune in on Saturday 3 December for 12 hours of programming on the International Day of People with Disability. This year we’re talking about REST as a necessity for our survival, the ways disabled people are habitually denied both rest and income, reflections on disabled rest and joy, disabled Indigenous anticapitalist futures, and so much more. Universal access to rest, to wellness, to life, is Disability Justice. Check out the full program grid here.

Image description: a graphic with a campfire burning in the dark and the words "Rest is SURVIVAL" in large print above it. To the side are the words "3CR Community Radio", and the words of a poem by Renay Barker Mulholland that read

"for every beat a rest
for every shadow cast a light
for every action a reaction
but
rest is not wasted time
it is survival”
