7:15 - Fernanda Melchor is the author of the powerful English-language novel Hurricane Season which was shortlisted for the 2020 International Booker Prize.

The book deals with the issue of femicide in Mexico and the complexity of
unwanted teen pregnancy. Fernanda was part of a conversation on translated literature hosted by the Wheeler Centre in 2020. The discussion was led by Roanna Gonsalves who introduces the segment.
