Joshua Badge joined us to speak about the No Police at Pride: LGBTQ Community Forum, which will be held next Thursday the 27th of October at Harehole in Fitzroy. The forum aims to progress the conversation about the conflicted relationship between Victoria Police and the LGBTQ community and explore concerns about police participation in Pride. Joshua is a writer and scholar living on Wurundjeri land in Melbourne, working freelance in the LGBTQ health sector and pro-bono in public health policy.//

 

Cody Smith is a Canberra based intersex educator, activist and current Senior Projects Officer at Intersex Human Rights Australia. Cody joined us to commemorate Intersex Awareness Day, which falls on this coming Wednesday the 26th of October. October 26th marks the anniversary of the first public demonstrations by intersex people in Boston USA. Today Cody spoke with us about their work for IHRA, unpacking the range of meanings within the intersex label, and why intersex awareness day is important everyday! Footscray local historian Liz Crash spoke with us about urban planning and the unequal impacts of climate change on the Maribyrnong flood plain in the wake of last week's flooding events, which left homes in suburbs including Maribyrnong and Flemington inundated while the Flemington racetrack stayed conspicuously dry.//
