About Raising Our Voices

Raising Our Voices is a self advocacy radio show run by people with disability on Melbourne’s 3CR community radio. 

This radio show is produced and presented by people with: 

  • An intellectual disability  
  • An Acquired brain injury  
  • Complex communication needs 

Raising Our Voices has been making radio shows about disability rights and about issues that affect people with disability for over 35 years. Nothing about us without us!

Some of the things we talk about are: 

  • Disability housing rights (e.g. issues with group homes and institutions) 
  • Discrimination and exploitation 
  • Transport issues
  • Pension issues
  • Self Advocacy 
  • Other topics about disability and rights
