Rob from 3CR's Strong Spirit spoke with Keenan Mundine who is the Principal consultant and founder of Deadly Connections, an organisation that brings family and community together to better support individuals. Keenan after losing both his parents, and being separated from his brothers at the age of seven, he found himself living on the streets and commiting crime to survive. The talk shows why First Nation self-determination is important. Self-determination means different things to different people, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples describes self-determination as the ability for Indigenous people to freely determine their political status and pursue their economic, social and cultural development.
