7.15am David Johnson spoke with Jessie about the work of Australian GP Claire Weeks on her patient-focused work on anxiety. The second part of this interview will be broadcast next week.

 

7.30am Les Thomas spoke about his new single The Firing Line which deals with the subject of genocide in Gaza, and the backfire against attempted censorship by Northcote venue the Wesley Anne, which has since issued an apology for cancelling the single launch. The single will now be launched at The Curtin, at 3pm on Sunday 31 August, after the weekly solidarity March for Palestine.

 

7.45am Margaret Beavis from Medical Association for the Prevention of War spoke on the 80th anniversary of the horrific nuclear bombing of Hiroshima, spoke about events happening across Naarm and urged listeners to sign a petition for the Australian government to join the Nuclear Weapon Ban Treaty (link below).

8am Andy Bottriell from Cohealth spoke about the growing homelessness crisis, and the Homelessness Cup happening today from 11.30am at JJ Holland Park, corner of Kensington Road & Childers St in Kensington.
