Happy May Day from 3CR!

Every year 3CR joins communities around the world in celebrating the achievements of the labour movement, and to show solidarity with the continued struggle for labour rights and fair working conditions for everyone. Tune in from 7am to hear unique workplace perspectives from Aboriginal communities protecting and rehabilitating country, Palestinian workers rights, the history of May Day, campaign updates, community events and much much more.

Rank and File Worker and Trade Union Show, covering current affairs, actions, news and events from the labour movement. Includes "The Week That Was" with Kevin Healy.

Stories and issues from the Asia Pacific region with a labour and grassroots perspective. Produced by Australia-Asia Worker Links.

9:30-10am Palestine Remembered 

Featuring Palestinian educator, writer, activist and community organizer Noura Mansour.

10-10:30am Radioactive Show

Solidarity with unpaid workers: Caring for Country - On this radioactive show, we take a look at the work done by aboriginal people around Australia caring for Country with Adnyamathanha elder Regina McKenzie. This working is not only mostly unpaid, but also comes at enormous personal cost. While on May Day people around the world stand in solidarity with workers, it is important that unpaid workers are also remembered and acknowledged.

Kevin Bracken on the history and importance of May Day and international solidarity campaigns.

On Screen will feature recommendations for films to watch and celebrate May Day || International Workers Day with Guest Liam Ward

Ella Tooms (3CR Breakfast) caught up with Lizzie O'Shea about the myth of 'unskilled labour' and the impact changes in technology has in the workplace.

1:15 -1:30pm The Future for a Black Union Alliance.

A historic speech delivered by proud Gunnai Gunditjmara and Djab Wurrung woman Senator Lidia Thorpe to the union movement in 2018 on the history of union support for Aboriginal struggle for liberation and the dream of a strong future alliance.    

1:30-2pm Radical Philosophy

Abuse of Power by Employers - Professor Elizabeth Anderson speaks about cases where employees are told to wear diapers instead of being able to have bathroom breaks, sexual harassment and the misconceptions amongst people about thinking that free markets make workers free.
