Intersections

Do you find mainstream feminism not relevant to your life? Too white? Too liberal? Ever been accused of being a feminist killjoy? Maybe your feminism is intersectional! Listen up each Sunday from 5.30-6pm starting 2 October for Intersections. Live Studio guests, interviews with activists from different fields, book art and film reviews and feminist rant of the week!

Women  on the Line fundraiser

The Women on the Line producers invite you to a screening of short films made by women producers or directors from Australia and overseas. Now an annual event, we have gathered a range of films for your viewing pleasure, including Our Gemma, Beat, The Sea Between Us, The Women Who Were Never There, Pumzi and more. 3CR will be coming to you live from the Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner Memorial Launch this Sunday Sept 11th from 2pm -3pm. The building of this formal memorial to Victoria’s frontier wars is the result of 12 years of community action against the whitewashing of the brutality of colonisation and the frontier wars.

Done By Law trivia night

Done By Law is the Federation of Community Legal Centres’ radio show on 3CR 855AM and it's time once again for our sell out amazingly awesome trivia night extravaganza to raise funds for our mother station, which is celebrating its 40th year on air! This year our quizmaster is none other than the hilarious Jill Prior. Enough said! Date: Friday 9 September 2016. Time: 6.30pm for dinner, trivia starts at 7.30pm on the dot!
(Dancing with DJ Parky from 10.30PM to 1.00AM) Venue: Fitzroy Town Hall. Tickets are only $25 per person online plus dinner option for an additional $15.

3CR

We have a position available as the Station Manager at 3CR. The Station Manager is responsible for the overall day to day management of the station, including the coordination of staff and ensuring access and equity for 3CR’s volunteer workers and affiliates. The Station Manager also acts as the Executive Officer to the 3CR Committee of Management and to Community Radio Federation. This is a permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week, nine day fortnight with an RDO). Applications close 9am Monday 5 September.

The Boite World Music Cafe is hosting a fundraiser event to support The Boite's program 'Music Sans Frontieres' on 3CR. Join Serbian folk singers Prelo, Bolivian pan pipe marching band Zampoñistas, Singer/ songwriter Bruce Watson, Phoenix Choir, women’s choir Breathing Space, Zimbabwean spoken word artist Sista Zai Zanda and storyteller and songwriters, a colourful night of music, poetry and storytelling. Tickets:

Hands Off Aboriginal Kids

Last Saturday thousands of people rallied around Australia to protest against the brutal treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids in custody.
