An outline of a person with squiggly lines in their head, that comes out of their mouth and spells the words month of madness, then this line goes to another outlined persons ears and mind. The people are pink and the background is green. Down the bottom of the screen there is text that reads 'A month of dedicated programming for mental health awareness'

October marks mental health awareness month and some of your favourite 3CR programs will be bringing you fresh news, views and tunes on all things mental health.

Join us, as we challenge stigma and smash systems that continue perpetuate harm to those of us that are proudly mad.

To commemorate mental health month and with the weather warming up, we replayed an episode of 3CR's Earth Matters. In this conversation, Earth Matters programmer Claudia Craig spoke with Dr Cybele Dey to unpack the physical health and mental health affects of hot weather, why heat is linked with increased mental health emergency presentations for vulnerable groups of people such as adolescents or those living with complex health disorders, and the secondary impacts of heat like increased rates of conflict and online hate speech. Find the whole episode of Earth Matters here, and tune into 3CR 855am Sundays from 11-11:30am.
