My name is Jan Bartlett and I've been producing and presenting Tuesday Hometime since 1986. Over the years I have moved mainly to issues of peoples' struggles around the world, not only in the majority world but the minority as well. The issues can be indigenous rights, environmental destruction, land rights with justice, supporting people struggling under occupation and opposition to war. I have also highlighted abuses against animals, whether wildlife or in factory farms, to pressure producers and governments to change their practices.
Over the years I have been privileged to interview many men and women involved in their stuggles overseas including El Salvador, Guatemala, Chile, Nicaragua, Burma, Bougainville, Palestine, Papua New Guinea, Irian Jaya, Argentina, Iraq, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, South Africa, Somalia and East Timor.
On Wednesday May 1, we bring you discussions on workers' rights, industrial actions, the labour movement, and fair working conditions for everyone. Hear about indigenous rights, social justice, international solidarity, work safety, community building, un/under-employment, campaign updates, workers' songs, and more. It’s going to be a huge day!
