Layna Hokianga-Pouaka was born and raised in Ngāti Kahuungunu, on the east coast of the North Island of Aotearoa/NZ. Layna is a dedicated advocate for Māori and Indigenous rights, truth and justice particularly ensuring Māori representation at a government level.
