We mark Hiroshima Day 2026 with recordings from the 'Singing for Peace' event at the State Library of Victoria.  Featuring a speech from Janet Craven, Australian Director of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, poetry from Sato Itoh and Kaori Okubo,  and song from Singing with Purpose made up of the Victorian Trade Union Choir, the Brunswick Rogues Choir the Climate Choir and the Riff Raff Radical Marching Band.  

We also play two speeches from the Independent and Peaceful Australia Networks public meeting to open their recent conference 'Time to Break Free From the US Alliance'.  We hear from Googatha elder Aunty Sue Haseldine and Independent Journalist and Director of 'Earth's Greatest Enemy' Abby Martin.

There is just under a month left to get your submissions in the AUKUS Public Inquiry.  You can make written, oral, and video submissions.  All views are welcome and anonymous submissions are accepted. Submissions close September 1st, 2026.

The Anti-AUKUS Peace Walk: Port to Port starts on 19 August, 2026.  People from across this continent, represented by a number of grassroots organisations will meet in Port Augusta, and walk over 400kms to Port Adelaide on Kaurna Yarta to raise awareness of the dangers of uranium mining, US militarism and AUKUS nuclear submarines.
