TERFs, Nazis & police violence; Music on death care; Sensory friendly club night for neurodivergent queers

Sunday, 19 March 2023 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm
Amy, Eddie, and Jacob

TW: this episode discusses transphobia, police violence, and the rise of far right/fascist ideology

Jacob speaks with queer electronic musician & aged care worker Alex Antunes, who operates under the moniker of ALX; GoSlow + trans musician Penny Euniq. The pair have collaborated on a new track called 'We Play Bingo' and will be performing live at the Worker's Club this Thursday 23 March. Tickets available here. //

Queer & trans activist and convenor of the Queer Unionists in Tertiary Education Amy Sargeant & trans musician Eddie Phillips speak about the horrifying scene that played out on the steps of Victorian Parliament House yesterday. Nazi groups made headlines after gatecrashing an anti-trans rally organised by prolific TERF Kelly Jay Kean. A coalition of pro-trans groups confronted the rally with a strong counter action, but were met with violent police pushback, as Victorian police formed a wall to protect Nazis, permitting them to salute, chant, and hold transphobic banners. //

Kin Francis and Alex Brittan from Good Trip Events discuss their new low sensory club night for queer neurodivergent people. Check out their first event on March 30 at subclub here
