Violet and Brad discussed criminalisation of dissent. For further information please go to the Human Rights Law Centre website.

The second extended interview featured Debbie Kilroy, CEO of Sisters Inside and one of Australia's leading advocates for criminalised women and children. She discussed the the Crimes Amendment (Prohibiting the Strip Searching of Children) Bill 2026 put forward by Lidia Thorpe, Independent Aboriginal Victorian Senator. The bill focuses on baning strip search of children in prison. Lived experience of strip search and distressing material about trauma was discussed. Overincarceration of Aboriginal children was talked about in the context of colonisation. The bill will be debated in the Senate on Thursday.  Please go the Lidia's website, and also the Sisters Inside website for further information and submissions.
