Brighten your life - Custom paint and Bikes by Steve

Monday, 27 May 2019 - 10:00am to 10:30am

Val and Faith are joined in the studio, as things in Melbourne take a wintery turn, by Steve Gardner of Bikes by Steve. We take a look at some local news including the sad, and far too early death, of Melbourne bicycle legend Peter Moore. Peter Moore has left very few corners of the bicycle world untouched over his life time and has been a constant and inspiring presence in Melbourne's bike life for decades.

We also remind listeners that feedback on the City of Melbourne Draft Transport Strategy is due by June 19th and are thrilled to hear the news that St Kilda Rd bike lanes are edging towards becoming a reality.

Conversation turns to colour and the myriad ways in which you can brighten your life on your bike. Steve talks about the custom paint work he does not only on custom built bicycles but on rider's older bicycles, the differences between painting cars and bicycles and the energy working in a shared space with some of Melbourne's other custom bicycle services provides.

We finish up with a couple of our favourite winter events coming up including Melburn Roobaix and the Swift Campout.
