#NunsToo, Spiritual Abuse and the Fall of Cardinal Pell

Monday, 11 March 2019 - 8:30am to 9:00am

A fledgling #NunsToo movement has entered the public sphere while a much disparaged global summit on child sex abuse has taken place at the Vatican. Here in Australia, Cardinal Pell has been convicted for child abuse - it's been a tumultuous fe weeks for Catholics internationally.

Dr Kathleen McPhillips, a leader with the Interdisciplinary Trauma Research Network and the Vice-President of the Australian Association for the Study of Religion joins us to discuss the issues.

We also hear from Doris Wagner of #NunsToo and Virginia Saldanha, a leader and activist with the Ecclesia of Women in Asia on the dynamics of spiritual abuse.

Voices of Faith are running a global campaign for greater gender equality in the Catholic Church called Overcoming Silence. Check out their website where you can take a 1min action for change and unity at overcomingsilence.com
