Freedom: What does it mean, where does it come from, and do we have it?

Friday, 18 November 2022 - 10:00am to 10:30am

Jennifer and Jacques talk about 'freedom', starting with how the west pinched the notion from indigenous people in present-day Canada during the Enlightenment, some centuries ago.

After discussing different concepts of freedom, they apply it to the workplace. Specifically, under hierarchical, command-and-control 'managerialism', are workers really free? - or are they forced to trade their freedom for a wage in order to live?

Friday 10:00am to 10:30am
Think Again offers weekly conversations and reflections about current events, trends and public pronouncements on contemporary and emerging issues. The show moves beyond what we read and hear via the public and ‘social’ media, to invite alternative possibilities to guide our thinking, living and organising.
