Constitutions: Where do they come from and what are they (good) for?

Friday, 1 July 2022 - 10:00am to 10:30am

Consititutions have been in the news a lot lately, with the need to review our own one to enshrine a First Nations Voice to Parliament, and the recent decision by the US Supreme Court that laws supporting abortion rights are unconstitutional. Also, as discussed in the last program, Australia needs to change its constitution to become a republic.

With all of this in mind, Jennifer and Jacques give a potted history of constitutions, and discuss some of their surprising characteristics.

Friday 10:00am to 10:30am
Think Again offers weekly conversations and reflections about current events, trends and public pronouncements on contemporary and emerging issues. The show moves beyond what we read and hear via the public and ‘social’ media, to invite alternative possibilities to guide our thinking, living and organising.
