Today on Refugee Radio we had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Hawzhin Azeez, a former University of Newcastle academic and now a central figure on the Kobane Reconstruction Board. She spoke about the Kurdish fight for Democratic confederalism and their aims to build a strong community using the pillars of multiculturalism, feminism and ecological sustainability. She spoke about their efforts at maintaining a livable situation in Kobane to care for the refugees coming through and encourage them to stay and build a safe and strong community.
