Living With A Brain Injury

Wednesday, 9 November 2022 - 6:00pm to 6:30pm

Lisa, Larissa and Julie speak about living with a brain Injury (ABI).  Lisa, Larissa and Julie are all different but share a common experience of acquiring a brain injury.

In this show, they challenge the so called 'tragedy' of ABI, letting listeners know that living with an ABI is not a tragedy or inspirational. They also chat about the 'social modal' of disability and the term 'inspiration porn'.

Lisa, Larissa and Julie also discuss the isolation people with ABI often experience, and how self advocacy and connecting with others in the ABI and disability community can reduce this isolation.
