On this weeks episode...

We kick off the program this week with a quick report back from Tobia about the AFSA convergence on the weekend which saw over 20 organizations participate in a weekend of discussion, planning of actions and movement building in the heart of Djaara Country/Daylseford.

Lots of inspiring moments and a really great organisation that we are proud to be in contact with make sure you head to all their webistes and socials to keep in the loop and consider joining!

Over the weekend at the A-League grand final there was disgraceful booing of welcome to country. This has become now a recurring theme from the Anzac Day dawn service now to this. Migrant communities are being drawn into this rhetoric and participating in things that are against values with which our elders and culture educate us towards. It is our responsibility as migrants on stolen land to fight alongside our First Nations comrades because our struggles for liberation are inextricably linked!

There's been a lot of discussion regarding whether or not a livestreamed firing squad ought to be shown, we think that the commentary doesn't go far enough and the rogue United Snakes of America needs to be reanalysed for the global pariah that it is.

In France the students have been rebelling against the conditions the French ruling class has imposed on them and have been inspiring a wave of students to fight similarly for their rights. We have put together an audio collecting the voices of students all around Italy as they explain the conditions they face going to school, what their struggles are and what they are fighting and occupying schools for.

The 10th of October was called as a International day of action for Palestine and both Australia and Italy responded with some incredible numbers of people filling up the streets to protest against the continuing genocide of the Palestinian people that enters now it's 3rd year! We preface the conversation with some of Sara Awad's reflections, you can find the full text here. We then hear a compilation from the streets of Italy from north to south of the boot there were over 80 mobilizations! Students, Unions and citizens filled the streets and we take you down into the heart of it.

We close out the programming looking forward at the general strike on he 30th of October that has been called that aims to transform all the popular struggles that have been going on in Italy and that we have been reporting for you, from the schools, to Palestine and the drive to war all tied back to the working conditions for every day workers. Matthew reads out the translated statement from USB (Unione Sindacale di Base), you can find the original text here.
