All over  the world the battle to save forests is CLIMATE ACTION. In  Northern NSW at last the logging has stopped in the  Great Koals National Park, but there's still an argument over offsets.

Meanwhile, in the south of the state, down around Edenand the border with Victoria there is a corridor right up to the Illawarra which could become the Great Southern National Park. It's a big vision joining up protected areas with state forests which are still being cleared for woodchips.  "We're nearly there" according to Sue Higginson , Bob Brown and David Shoebridge at Pitt St Uniting Church in Sydney.(5/9/2026)

We saw an exquisite film by Dave Gallan featuring the Gliders and Quolls and Bandicoots that live in these moist southern forests.

The film is Tallaganda - https://www.nsw.gov.au/departments-and-agencies/local-land-services/even...

Above the audience flew three huge lanterns made by Lismore people after the last greta flood. They are the angels of Joy, Compassion and Courage.

The conversation was introduced by Senator David Shoebridge and is followed by a dramatic event in parliament later in the month when three Greens senators crossed the floor over carbon offsets.
