Tribute to Vittorio Arrigoni

Compagno Vik, non ti abbiamo scordato. Restiamo umani!

We pay tribute to Italian activist and journalist Vittorio 'Vik' Arrigoni, killed in Gaza on 15 April 2011. Vittorio Arrigoni was a staunch supporter of the Palestinian struggle for freedom and justice, working with the Palestinian-led International Solidarity Movement. He had been living in Gaza since 23 August 2008 having arrived by sea with the ships Liberty and Free Gaza, and breaking the maritime blockade that Israel has imposed on Gaza since 1967. Arrigoni reported regularly for the Italian newspaper Il Manifesto and in his blog Guerrilla Radio, with a collection of his work and reporting published in his book Restiamo Umani. Vittorio Arrigoni is commemorated annually in Gaza, where he received a state funeral.
