Remembering Chile: Songs for the Revolution

Sunday, 14 September 2025 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Pilar and Karina, 3CR studios

September 14 marks the 52nd Anniversary of the US-backed coup in Chile that ousted democratically elected President Salvador Allende. The brutal dictatorship that followed saw widespread repression, but also resistance and hope.

On this episode, guest hosts Pilar and Karina present songs to remember the detained and disappeared, and celebrate the legacy of joy and steadfastness of Chilean musicians, martyrs, and comrades, with discussions around Victor Jara, Allende’s last words on Radio Magallanes, and more.
