Kris Schroeder is a talented musician and a key member of the three-piece band The Basics, alongside his bandmates Wally De Backer and Tim Heath. Known as quiet achievers, The Basics have carved out a remarkable career with five studio albums and over 2,500 live performances. Their extensive touring has taken them across the globe to places like Japan, Norway, and the UK, where they've built a devoted following. However, their impact isn't just limited to international success. In Australia, The Basics have also embarked on multiple tours aimed at reaching culturally underprivileged groups, including rural communities, regional schoolchildren, and Indigenous peoples.

While The Basics have garnered a loyal fanbase, Wally De Backer, also known as Gotye, achieved monumental global success in 2011 with his breakout hit "Somebody That I Used to Know," which propelled him to international stardom. As the band's bassist, Kris has forged his own path under the moniker Jackmann. In early 2020, Jackmann released a critically acclaimed 9-track album titled Low Key, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. The album showcases his distinct musical voice and adds another layer to his artistic journey.
In addition to his work with The Basics, Jackmann also released an EP titled Whatever Doesn’t Kill You, Just Makes You Bored earlier this year, further expanding his musical repertoire. It's an exciting time for Jackmann, and in this edition of This One’s Introduced By..., we’re thrilled to welcome him and dive into his impressive body of work.
