Cadillac Slim joins Dr Gonzo to introduce the tracks from the album Lonesome Sundown by The Breadmakers

Wednesday, 3 December 2025 - 11:00pm to Thursday, 4 December 2025 - 1:30am
Cadillac Slim is on This One's Introduced By... with Dr Gonzo on 3CR

The Breadmakers have been part of Melbourne’s underground for more than thirty years. They play a stripped-back, sweat-drenched mix of rhythm ’n’ blues and garage punk—the kind of music made for small rooms, sticky floors and late nights. The Breadmakers are raw just like The Yardbirds, Them, the Pretty Things and the Pink Finks, alive and wild.
They’ve built a loyal following here, in Japan, France and Spain having formed in 1989 to play early ‘60s-style Louisiana Rhythm & Blues – they take their name from a Slim Harpo track – having individually cut their teeth in ‘60s-styled garage rock bands earlier in the decade.
Their new album, Lonesome Sundown, out on soundflat records is a mix of hard-edged originals and carefully chosen covers, a great collection of rockin’ tracks.

The album was recorded by their latest keyboard player Mikey Young, at his Squires Loft studio. He’s best known as the guitarist of influential Melbourne punks Eddy Current Suppression Ring, and for his recording and mastering work with countless punk and garage bands worldwide.

Singer and bass player Nick Phillips [aka Cadillac Slim] joins Dr Gonzo to introduce the tracks from the album Lonesome Sundown by The Breadmakers on And This One’s Introduced By…
