Dr Gonzo is feeling a little embarrassed about being late to the party to hear about Magiclands the latest album by Blackbirds FC, a terrific collection of well crafted songs.

Singer, guitarist and songwriter Jeremy Gronow is joined by amigos Jeff Baker on guitar, Phil Cambell drums, Julien Chick  bass guitar, Bec Long  Cello and Gina Hearnden on vocals and guitar.

Together they've recorded the second full length Blackbirds FC album Magiclands,  12 compelling and melodic songs written by Jeremy and producer Cam McKenzie an 18 month saga during COVID lockdown.

The end result is an album that sounds utterly modern, a collection of the band's influences filtered and reimagined in their own songs of love, enlightenment, stupidity, politics, climate change, frustration and escape.  Indie rock, jangle pop, alt-country... Magiclands is a band laying it all on the line with honest, evocative and supremely catchy songwriting.
