In the waning days of summer 2024, Dr. Gonzo strolled along High Street in Northcote, where a vibrant music and family festival was in full swing. Sunfruits graced the main stage near the intersection of Separation Street, their blend of contemporary lyrics and psychedelic sounds resonating beautifully.

Shortly after, Dr. Gonzo spotted drummer Gene Argiro near the Northcote Social Club. Impressed by their performance, Dr. Gonzo invited Sunfruits to present their album One Degree on "And This One’s Introduced By…", resulting in a memorable collaboration.

Hailing from Melbourne / Naarm, Sunfruits has captivated audiences across Australia for the past three years. Their debut album, "One Degree," garnered acclaim from The Guardian, Rolling Stone, NME, Shindig, and others. Featuring anthemic psychedelic-pop and their most sophisticated songwriting yet, the album was mixed by John Lee, also known for producing Hooper Crescent's recent album, "Essential Tremors."

Following the album's release, Sunfruits embarked on sold-out tours across New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and Europe. The band's environmentally conscious songwriting and activism earned them a nomination for the prestigious Environmental Music Prize in 2023. Their climate-focused lyrics were even quoted in the Australian parliament by Greens Senator Janet Rice.
