Ella Thompson is a quiet achiever playing in electro/pop outfit Dorsal Finns, numerous solo recordings, 
playing with mentor and friend Renee Geyer alongside acclaimed artists Paul Kelly, and Vika and Linda Bull.
There's also been a commission by the Melbourne Recital Centre in 2015 creating a large-scale performance work entitled Like Running Water in the Elisabeth Murdock Hall.
Ella has collaborated with Graeme Pogson creating a theatrical and dreamy duo GL and playing festivals and headline shows in Australia and around the world including Meredith, Laneway and Splendour In The Grass.
She’s fronted, recorded and collaborated with legends The Bamboos and personally invited by Mark Ronson to join his band and accompany him on the Australian leg of the Uptown Funk world tour.
Paul Kelly say’s that Ella Thompson ‘Sings new soul like an old soul’ and she’s returned to her soul roots with Domino, a spooky, bittersweet collection of cinematic soul cuts influenced by 1970’s Italian 'Giallo’ film scores
and released on the mighty Melbourne Hopestreet recordings.
