Dane Blacklock and the Preachers Daughter are an abomination, and their mothers are very upset with them. Hewn from the rusty womb of a Melbourne gutter sometime around 2008, they have delighted and disgusted audiences with their depraved skalwaggery ever since.

Their first album, 'The Lonesome March of Wilson Tumbleweed', is a doom-folk, grime blues, epic incestuous tragedy, telling the tale of Wilson and Ophelia, star-crossed sibling lovers, riding harrowing waves of murder, drug abuse, sex and pain to their inevitable doom.

The Preachers Daughters' current project is a Satanic Gospel Cabaret Rock Opera, a broadway-style musical, satanic sermon / black mass, with a big band, choir, full costume, theatrical performance with 13 songs, to be released as an album later in the year.

The genre is a doom folk, grime blues version of gospel, kind of like Tom Waits meets James Brown. The message is to follow one’s bliss, to cast off shame and guilt and to enjoy life for all of its bounty, accept the chaos of existence and to embrace desire. The band preaches a message of pro feminism, pro sex and sexuality of any kind, pro gender diversity, pro diversity and diversity of thought, freedom of expression and lifestyle and the consumption and doing of anything at all so long as it does not harm your fellow person.
