The budget contains some additional funding for childcare but despite being painted as a 'womens budget' it doesn't deliver substantive reform that would pave the way for greater economic independence for women. At its core it is "another budget for billionaire climate criminals"

Jacob and Zane speak with Mai Saif from Free Palestine Melbourne about the latest wave of attacks on Palestinians unleashed by the Israeli state.
Saif outlines the illegal forced eviction of Palestinian families from Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem by far right settlers enabled by the Israeli army and courts and describes unprovoked attacks on worshippers praying at the Al Aqsa Mosque as part of Ramadan.
Saif says Israel / Palestine is "a simple issue - of oppressor and oppressed" and calls out biased media coverage that seeks to obscure the nature of the conflict.
Free Palestine Melbourne and others are holding a rally to commemorate Al Nakba on Saturday May 15 at the state library which will join other protests across the globe calling to Stop Israeli Attacks on Gaza.
