Lee explores the electoral and legal background of the current brutal coup attempt and outlines the extraordinary resistance of the people which has centred around a general strike and boycott of military products and services. Interview with Porobibi Bibiporo about the ongoing campaign for independence in West Papua. Porobibi reports that West Papuans face ongoing brutality by the Indonesian Military, with the highland area on Nduga a flashpoint, as mining giant Freeport McMoran seeks to pivot from open pit mining into underground mining for gold and minerals in the area. It is crucial that the international community continue to speak out in defence of West Papua.
