22 February, John Arnott joined by Penny Woodward and Evan Gaulke

Sunday, 22 February 2026 - 7:30am

This week, John Arnott was joined by edible‑plant expert Penny Woodward and landscape designer Evan Gaulke from Ochre landscapes.  Highlights included: how to propagate from seed for nature-strip plantings, smart hedge‑pruning techniques to keep growth strong from top to bottom, key late‑summer gardening tasks plus a garlic masterclass from Penny Woodward.

We also celebrated the City of Melbourne’s new floral emblem — the Critically Endangered Swamp Everlasting - Xerochrysum palustre which was chosen from over 25,000 votes! Plus a look at Coolart Homestead in Somers, a beautiful heritage site with thriving gardens and environmental  education at its heart.

Catch up if you missed it!
