Aboriginal Massacres and Refugees

 This Doin' Time broadcast is dedicated to all the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that have died in massacres over many years in so-called Australia.

 Marisa interviews Professor Lyndall Ryan (interviewed by Marisa on 24th May 2021), First Nations historian and researcher with the Centre for the Study of Violence at The University of Newcastle. Their discussion focuses on new evidence revealing Aboriginal massacres committed on an extensive scale. The project and its findings are discussed in detail, including the digital map of the massacres, whose  development and revisions have been led by Professor Lyndall Ryan over the course of several years.

 Later, Marisa interviews Ian Rintoul from the Refugee Action Coalition. He gives an update of a rally which happened on 20 March, and talks about violations of human rights for Refugees and Asylum seekers, particularly focusing on Medevac Refugees and demanding permanent visas.
