Refugees and Health

Monday, 20 July 2020 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm

Marisa interviewed Moz, an asylum seeker and musician locked in the Mantra Hotel. Moz spoke about his transfer from Manus Island to the Mantra Hotel in Preston, and how he was affected by the repealing of the Medivac Bill. He and other asylum seekers are all ill, and are not getting the treatment they deserve. Moz also spoke about a guard at the Mantra, testing positive for Coronvirus, and the fears that he and others have about this.

Marisa then interviewed Ollie, an activist and Refugee advocate, who was part of a protest at the Mantra Hotel, in which activists went into cages, in solidarity with the asylum seekers inside the Mantra Hotel.
