A bill to criminalise control criminal was recently introduced into NSW Parliament. If convicted, offenders could face a 5 to a 10-year prison sentence. But some advocates question whether the criminal justice system is the best place to address gender violence.

On today's show, Tuesday Breakfast presenter George Maxwell explains what coercive control is, and shares abolitionist perspectives on criminalising coercive control.
