Concrete Gang - 4th December 1977 program

  • Australia is run for the big monopolies and their lackeys. Dismissed ex-Chrysler workers report, who management designated as troublemakers. Union leaders seemingly backing the bosses, who can now sack workers ‘for being potential sh*t-stirrers’.

  • Comparison with the 8,000 names on the blacklist on NSW Hospital Employees Union and hospital blacklists a step up from usual attacks police and Industrial Relations Bureau attacks on picketing workers. But you can’t blacklist the whole working class.

  • SONG: ‘Big Road Blues’ by the Foreday Riders on the Eureka record label.

  • Thanks for positive letters on last week’s episode on fascism.

  • Views of the Concrete Gang on the elections and the noise coming out of politicians: Doug Antony’s statement coming out of Perth.

  • Electoral politics and their media backers - we’re still looking for a party in this election that’s backing the interests of the workers… 7c off a gallon off the price of petrol? Poor form on previous promises - spending, medibank, and other carrots to dangle.

  • SONG: ‘Do Re Mi’ Woody Guthrie Cover by Ry Cooder.

  • Harry finishes up with a statement on the 123rd Anniversary of the Eureka Rebellion just past (December 3rd) and callout to get down to the BBQ and events this Sunday.

Presenters: ‘Colin’, ‘Willie’, ‘Mario’, ‘Harold’, ‘Gabby’, and more.
