Shae discusses how to build an ecological identity in young children, so that children can grow up feeling a part of nature and not separate from it. She reads from an interview with Jan White – an early childhood educator in the UK – who outlines the importance of outdoor play and nature-based learning for young children. She interviews Sue Wiedermann – an early childhood educator in Victoria – about how our relationship to nature play in early childhood centres in Australia has changed over the years and how we might incorporate better outdoor learning into childcare.
