Don't Look Up

Tom Ballard and Emerald Moon discuss film Don't Look up. Watch Don't Look Up | Netflix Official Site

They enjoy the film's savaging of the media which blocks and trivialises  climate action. It is good to know the enemy but they worry about the film's portrayal of a  demoralised and disempowered  population. Our civilization is creating  the climate crisisis. Whether it is too big for us or not, we will never know if we think we have no agency.

Crimes against nature, Capitalism and global heating

Jeff Sparrow - excerpts from his new book Crimes against Nature - ( Capitalism and global heating) Crimes Against Nature | Book | Scribe Publications

Quote:

"No matter the banner under which the war on the environment takes place, the perception of nature as entirely distinct and separate from human society reflects an historical disempowerment of the population, an original act of violence perpetrated on working people".

This takes us full circle to Felicity Jefferson and her efforts to cure this disempowerment.

Music
