Revelations about Australia's foreign policy: What is really happening and why, as told by Prof. Clinton Fernandes

Friday, 28 November 2025 - 10:00am to 10:30am

Jacques interviews Professor Clinton Fernandes about his latest book: Turbulence: Australian foreign policy in the Trump era (2025 Melbourne University Press).

Clinton explains Australia's involvement as a 'sub-imperial power' assisting the US in its attempts to maintain and extend its hegemony and imperial power with three foci: Europe, the Middle East and China... And in all three 'frontlines' Australia is assisting with weapons or military deployment, with strategic global business decisions and political alliances and interventions or statements. In this process, our country gives up all its autonomy and sovereignty, becoming ever more a pawn in some other power's plans and decisions...
