On 15 March 2026, Christobel was joined by Naarm based, South Sudanese-Australian rapper and community worker Akolda Bil @akoldabil also known as AKB.
Akolda has been rapping for over ten years as an outlet for self expression and emotional release. He dropped his long-coming debut EP Another King Born in 2025, and most recently a song and video tribute for his late nephew Dau Akueng called LLD MVP. He’s currently studying his bachelors degree in social work and has a background in youth work and individual support. Akolda arrived in Australia in 2003 from South Sudan via Egypt with his mother and siblings, spending his formative years in Newcastle and moving with his family to Fitzroy when he was 17. He grew into the rich creative fabric of the area, finding outlets in music and was drawn to working with young people because of his life experience and outgoing nature.
He joins @chris_tob_el in the studio to chat about his first trip back to South Sudan in 27 years, play some South Sudanese music and some of his own. He also performs LLD MVP live in the studio!!
The second hour of the show is a mix starting with the tracks we didn’t get time to play in the interview into a short mix by Christobel
