Mine-Free Glenaladale Success + December Transport Update

Wednesday, 1 December 2021 - 9:00am to 10:00am

This week, Kevin and Zeb get an update from regular transport commentator John McPherson, but first we take a quick detour to celebrate a good news story!

Debbie Carruthers from Mine-Free Glenaladale comes on the program to discuss the third rejected environmental effects statement in the past 20 years, but the second of 2022.

Kalbar Operations' proposed mineral sands mine at Glenaladale has been knocked back! Had the project gone ahead, it would have significantly affected wildlife, vegetation, air quality, agriculture, horticulture and downstream water systems.

With community opposition to the project being cited as “Unusual and a testament to the depth of feelings in the community against the project” in the report on its rejection, we thank and congratulate Debbie and everyone else in involved in this campaign and EES process for this great success.

Wednesday 9:00am to 10:00am
Urban environment issues, analysing government services, both federal and state and local campaigns.
