City Limits - Energy Access & Cognitive Disability

Wednesday, 10 April 2019 - 9:00am to 10:00am

It's energy week! After catching up on the news we chat to Dr Yvette Maker, a Senior Research Associate at the Melbourne Social Equity Institute. Yvette studies how people with cognitive disabilities interact with the companies that provide essential utilities like power, water and telecommunications. She talks about the barriers faced by people with experiences as broad as dementia, acquired brain injury and mental health challenges, and what these companies can do to make basic services more universally inclusive.

In the final ten minutes of the show we cross to the Change the Rules rally- Melburnians protesting for fair and secure work!

Wednesday 9:00am to 10:00am
Urban environment issues, analysing government services, both federal and state and local campaigns.
