City Limits - The Crisis Of Public Transport

Wednesday, 2 August 2017 - 9:00am to 10:00am

We are joined this week by transport commentator and regular guest John McPherson as well as a campaigner from People For Public Transport (www.publictransportpublichands.com). How damaging has privatisation been and what can we do to reverse the trend?

We are joined later in the show by Dr John Stone who is a lecturer in transport planning at the University of Melbourne. Are we investing enough in public transport? Are we focussing too much on building places to live along railway lines at the expense of creating destinations for people to travel to? Are we focussed too much on increasing infrastructure for cars at at the expense of public transport?

Wednesday 9:00am to 10:00am
Urban environment issues, analysing government services, both federal and state and local campaigns.
