Survival Day Broadcast - 40th Anniversary of Aboriginal Tent Embassy

Tune in to 3CR from 12 -6pm on Thursday January 26th for special broadcasting to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Canberra. Established on the lawns of Old Parliament House in January 1972, the embassy has been a focal point for the struggle for Aboriginal rights. Few Australian political protests can claim to have made an impact as great or as lasting as the Tent Embassy.

From 12 - 4pm 3CR will be broadcasting live from the embassy site in Canberra, featuring news, live updates, music and interviews with Indigenous activists from around the country. Presented by 3CR broadcasters Robbie Thorpe, Johnny Harding and Gilla McGuiness.

Later in the afternoon, some 3CR legends will return to the airwaves for a one-off music special to acknowledge this historic occasion. At 4pm Johnny Mac will bring you hip-hop and R‘n’B followed by Kutcha Edwards from 5pm and his unique blend of music and storytelling.
