Since the 26 August 2021, Gurridyula and other Wangan and Jagalingou Cultural Custodians have been keeping a sacred fire alight in the autonomous zone 'Waddananggu', in resistance to the Adani Carmichael coalmine operating on the Galilee Basin in so-called central Queensland.
