What’s it like being a young person living with a chronic illness and disability, and having to navigate daily life including the dating scene, establishing a career or even partying? Sydney-based writer, reporter, producer, podcaster and illustrator, Chloe Sargeant is penning a memoir on these topics to support other people who are going or have gone through similar experiences.
Chloe will share her lived experience of developing a chronic nervous system illness in her early 20’s in her book — aptly titled ‘omfg ouch: how to live your best life when you’re chronically fully sick’.
Today on our live radio show Brainwaves with host Flic Manning, Chloe will discuss her work and topical issues such as the cyclical nature of ‘chronic illness grief’ and discrimination in the medical industry.
