At Home with Satellite Program - Featuring 'FRAGMENTS'

Tonight on Brainwaves we will be speaking to Rose Cuff, the executive director of the Satellite Foundation.. She is joined by Melbourne composer, multi-instrumentalist and educator Sierra Verity-Beasley, and Zane and his mum Sam. Zane was recently involved in the Satellite At Home program, which we will be discussing today. During this program Zane worked alongside Sierra to create the song 'FRAGMENTS'

'FRAGMENTS', part of Satellite Foundation’s ‘At Home with Satellite’ Program, is an original song co-created by young people aged 12 – 14 living in families with mental illness and/or challenges to their mental health. Listen in to the end of the episode to hear the powerful song 'FRAGMENTS'.

The music celebrates the unique experiences, strengths, and resilience young people face when living within families experiencing mental health challenges.

Challenging the mainstream, negative stereotypes of people with a mental illness ths program actively engages those living with a mental illness as researchers, interviewers, performers and program designers while promoting community mental health awareness.
