Anne Elder - a poet's life

Thursday, 24 January 2019 - 11:30am to 12:00pm

The Anne Elder Award has been bestowed annually since 1977 to recognize the best first book of poetry by Australian writers. The anthology, The Bright and the Cold, compiled by her daughter Catherine, and the biography, The Heart's Ground, written by Anne's niece, Julia Hamer, provide a perspective of a poetic voice and the creative spirit of an Australian poet who was the contemporary of such voices as Bruce Dawe, Judith Rodriguez and Les Murray. Copies of both works are available from Readings on-line.
