Coinciding with the G20 summit in Brisbane in November, 3CR will be presenting a series of live radio broadcasts from the Musgrave Park Aboriginal Tent Embassy’s First Nations with alternative vision - Decolonisation Before Profit and The Peoples SummitTune in from Saturday 8 November to Sunday 16 November. 3CR will be out in force with dangerous ideas.

Farewell Dear Comrade Bill

We are sad to announce our much loved comrade Bill Deller passed away peacefully on Friday 17 October.

Update: Memorial Meeting to celebrate the life of BILL DELLER (3 August 1949 – 17 October 2014) to be held at 2pm on Saturday 8 November 2014. At the Council Chamber, Victorian Trades Hall Council, Cnr Victoria and Lygon St, Carlton South (enter via driveway to left of building in Lygon St). After at Bella Union Bar. Position Vacant - Promotions Coordinator

Want to work at 3CR? We have a (maternity leave) position available as our Promotions Coordinator! The role of the Promotions Coordinator is to promote the station to our greater Melbourne audience, subscribers and donors.  The position has a focus on generating income for the station by coordination and development of station projects and services. This is a part-time, 12-month maternity leave position. Applications close 9am Monday 3rd November 2014.

3CR Film Fundraiser

Bring your friends for a movie night out at 3CR’s screening of the new political comedy ‘Pride’ on Thursday 6 November. Set in the Margaret Thatcher’s England in the summer of 84, ‘Pride’ is the story of how a London-based group of gay and lesbian activists join forces with the National Union of Mineworkers to raise money to support the strikers' families. 

Come to the first Melbourne screening of this great new documentary and support 3CR Community Radio and Green Left Weekly this Friday! Radical Wollongong is the documentary tale of miners battling deadly working conditions, women fighting Australia's biggest company, activists jailed for resisting the Vietnam draft, and today's movement to stop coal seam gas

2014 CBAA Award Finalists

3CR is very excited to announce that we are finalists in two 2014 CBAA award categories. Longtime programmer, Bill 'The Greek' Pappaionou has been shortlisted for Outstanding Volunteer Contribution for his dedication to the station and his outstanding work on Monday Greek. Shortlisted for Excellence in Training was our Aboriginal Women's Radio Training project that trained local Aboriginal women in radio presentation, paneling and audio editing.
